Pros and cons of XCOM®: Enemy Within app for iPhone and iPad

XCOM®: Enemy Within app good for

Save! Save! Save! 2k has not attempted to fix the bugs in this game. The game will close without reason, causing you to revert to the last save point. Frustrating to say the least. Otherwise great game play and your soldiers still miss at close range. 2k youve had long enough to fix this bug! Come on!
Im not sure how much support is rallied behind pushing for a mobile port of the phenomenal sequel, but please Firaxis, please. I am a massive fan and a daily player of both Civilization and XCOM. I love them both beyond verbal expression. Unfortunately I dont have a very capable computer to run the future of these series as I am a console gamer. However, I am as much as a mobile gamer as I am on console, and it would be a momentous feat should XCOM 2 make it iOS just as its predecessor. Thank you for all you do, Firaxis.
Bought this game because I love xcom but later had to delete it because I didnt have enough storage space now I cant get it back. :(
Its so fantastic to be able to play XCom on the go. So much of this translation from the console (on which I played the original) is spot-on--except the difficulty rating, that is. I finished (the 2012) Enemy Unknown, well, and Ive found "Normal" in this version of Enemy Within to be WAY too difficult. This experience has definitely diminished my fun, having to start the game over so many times. Its tiresome. Recently, I gave in and reduced myself to "Easy" just so I could finally explore all the additional stuff that Enemy Within has introduced. So far, its not so easy as to be boring, but time (as long as I dont get downright weary of the game) will tell...
I really enjoyed this game. Its a great top-down strategy game. Really good for killing some time. Quite challenging too.
I love 3rd party platform shooters but never imagined a good one could be developed for a tablet. XCOM is turn-based like Chess which initially sounded stupid, but it works! First off, the graphics, plot, enemy-AI and ability to customize your fighters are very sophisticated and engaging; and as you get faster, the game takes on the feel of a real-time platform shooter. Awesome game!

Some bad moments

I have 2.5gb available on my phone but the game wont download (it says it needs 1.96gb). Worst thing is ive already been billed for the game. Thoroughly disappointed.
Adoro i Tactics in generale ma pur avendo grosse aspettative su Xcom proprio non mi ha preso. Lho trovato complicato e noiosetto.
I saw another reviewer on here that mentioned this, but assumed it wouldnt happen to me. I have an iPad Air 2 with the latest iOS installed, so its not my hardware or software causing this. I take the tutorial route because, lets face it, I am heavily challenged with strategy games. I hit the second level, send my guy on the roof. He shoots an alien, another guy grenades the other alien. It says its turning decision making over to me. I move my next two guys, it says "Alien Activity" on the screen. Next, my dude on the roof has a turn. The tutorial (which told me was going to back off) says I need to select the crosshairs. I do, then it says to swipe to select a new target or click an alien head. However, there are no enemies in sight. I cant select any other actions, change soldier, cancel turn, move, etc... I cant even go back to the main menu and have to close the game. I tried opening an earlier save, but the same exact cycle happens each time. I paid $10 and want to be able to play this. If I get past it (by restarting the game) I will give a better review, but right now its unplayable. And I was so excited to play this after watching YouTube videos and talking to friends. Such a shame.
Maybe 2K will contact Apple about fixing this if they get enough negative reviews. I spent $10 on a game, made space to download it, and then was told I didnt have enough space. I go on my computer to download it (knowing that sometimes downloading a game takes extra, and then Im informed this game takes upwards of 3.25 GB of space. Im not reserving a quarter of my phones storage for this game. Thats unreasonable enough as it is; its even worse being misled about the size of the app. 2Ks support forum says the game needs 4.5 GB of space to download the game. Thats absolutely insane. Dont buy if you expect to have other apps on your device.
I love this game for the PS3, but I spent money on this version and it wont let me play it. I only get to choose my starting HQ location when it kicks me off. I have an iPod, iPhone, and iPad and it wont work on any of them.
The UI on this did not benefit from its transition to the touchscreen. Sight lines and even basic movement work in opaque, unexpected ways. Skip this and play it on a computer.
